Talked to the guy at Omega today. Sounds like this is what we want. The sound meter, which shows the highest dB out there (loudest sound?) has a range from 31.5-8000hz. The sound meter produces an analog signal, which is fed into the sound conditioner via the stick cable, and the sound conditioner digitizes the analog signal. The sound conditioner is connected to the internet server that has its own IP address. We must connect this server to the internet somehow (plug it into a cable modem, use a wireless router, etc) and then we can go to the IP address and see the signal in real-time. There is also free software called I-log that will make a log of that data for us. We can download that from Omega’s website. There was something about an rs-485 signal, but not sure what he said about that. His extension is 2331 and he is pretty helpful. He said if this stuff doesn’t work for us in the first week or so, we could return it.
